Hugo Alvar Henrik Aalto (February 3, 1898 - May 11, 1976) was a Finnish architect and designer.

He was the Scandinavian modernist designer, noted for his humanistic approach to modernism. His function includes architecture, furniture, and glassware. He was one of a 1st & virtually all influential designer of the Scandinavian modern movement, and the member of the Congres Internationaux d'Architecture Moderne. Major works include a Finlandia Hall in Helsinki, Finland, and a campus of Helsinki University of Technology. Aalto's glasswork includes the world-famous Aalto Vase.

Life and works
Alvar Aalto was natural within Kuortane, Finland. He exposed architecture at a Helsinki University of Technology from 1916 to 1921. He returned to Jyväskylä, where he opened his foremost architectural professional around 1923. A as punishment season he married designer Aino Marsio. Their honeymoon journeying to Italy sealed an intellectual attach sustaining a culture of the Mediterranean region that was to remain important to Aalto for the rest of his life.

Aalto's wide field of activity ranged from either furniture and glassware designs to architecture and painting. His vase designs come globe-famous. Aalto piece of furniture is made by Artek, a company Aalto co-founded. Aalto glasswork (Aino besides when Alvar) is made by iittala.
